Are you feeling exhausted from all the daily chores or other activities? Does it get you down knowing that there is so much to do? Have you lost the motivation to pick up a vac or a mop? Do you simply have no energy for home cleaning?
You are not alone! House cleaning can be a challenging task requiring the energy and motivation to make that start. What happens when you just can’t find the strength? The home seems to suffer.
In this month’s blog we are hoping we can give you a little inspiration when it just seems too much.
Start with inspiration. Sometimes when the body feels tired we can simply lack the motivation to take action. Restore your strength with some inspiration. Imagine how beautiful and bright your home will look after a good clean. Think about the buzz you will feel when you have done all those little chores.
You can also look at pictures of a clean home or think of how much happier and liberated you would feel after cleaning. You should feel the energy building up afterwards.
Make sure you are hydrated and have had something to eat.
Eating well may be all you need to get your energy back. Tiredness or exhaustion can also be caused by dehydration and hunger. Take eating seriously and stay hydrated with a lot of liquids too.
Make a list. Making a list gives you accountability and shows you what you have to do. When a task is checked off on the list you will feel accomplished and motivated to complete another task. Create a checklist and put it somewhere you can see it.
Concentrate on one job at a time. When you lack the energy to clean, you have to take things slow. Muster what strength you can and start from one small chore to the next. Don’t put pressure on yourself but simply clean with ease, finishing what you can. This can take days of the week or some hours. It all depends on what you can achieve without pressure. Set yourself an alarm and start by doing 15 minutes and once the 15 minutes is up see how you feel. We bet it will motivate you to want to carry on. If not that is also fine just pat yourself on the back for what you have done.
Make sure you have the right tools for the job. Using proper equipment helps you conserve energy and clean the home faster. Here are some tips on using the right tools to clean. Use a vacuum with versatile attachments. The attachments will help you clean several tricky areas without much stress. Use a microfibre cloth to wipe surfaces. Microfibre cloth is an invaluable cleaning tool because it wipes surfaces without leaving scratches or streaks. This saves you the extra work of trying to remove streaks from furniture.
Clean as you go. Cleaning as you go helps to reduce house cleaning tasks and increase orderliness. If the house doesn’t get disorganized, then there will be less to clean. Wash the dishes after meals rather than letting them pile up. Keep things in their rightful place to prevent clutter. Brush your pet regularly to cut down on pet hair in the home. Ensure the family obeys this rule too.
Clean efficiently. Develop little tricks to help you cut down on the chores and the time you spend cleaning. You can make simple adjustments to your routine like wiping down dusty furniture before using the vacuum.
Why not give these things a go and see if you can get your va va voom back! We would love to hear from you!
