With Christmas over, don’t let January get you down. Embrace it! We have put a checklist together to make it a little easier for you. Some tasks only need to be done once or twice a year. The problem is though that we forget to do them once or twice a year. Or else we tend to save it all for the better weather which makes spring cleaning such a daunting chore that it doesn’t occur, either.
I’ve found the best way is to break down each task and tackle them daily or weekly. Nothing then becomes too overwhelming!
I’ve also found that concentrating on one room or area is more rewarding because you can see the results. Here’s the January house cleaning checklist hope this inspires and helps!
1. Let There Be Dark!
In other words, it’s time to take down the Christmas lights inside and out!
2. Clear the Clutter
Put away any Christmas decorations, Christmas presents that are still lingering about.
3. Out with the Old, In with the New
Now’s the time to begin cleaning out your closets to make room. Share what you don’t need anymore with the less fortunate.
4. The Party’s Over…
The party’s over… so clean your holiday linens and put them away until next year.
Box them all up carefully and get them put away.
5. Soft Stuff
Scoop up all the decorative pillows, throws, etc., and get them in the washing machine for a freshen up.
6. Hard Stuff
Sanitize hard surfaces such as counters, telephones, iPad, laptops, the washing machine, etc.
7. Happy Houseplants
Clean, healthy house plants add a breath of fresh air to a room. Simply wipe the leaves with a microfiber cloth….. It works like magic.
8. Yours Are Fake?
Yours are fake? No problem. Blow-dry silk flowers clean, or wipe down with a damp cloth.
9. More Spicy Info
Clean your pantry. Toss foods that are out of date, give things a move about on the shelves and bring older bits to the front and the longer life stuff push to the back. Or if you are feeling more adventurous you could put in date order 🙂
10. Final January House Cleaning Checklist chore: On a cold, miserable day when you’ve nothing else to do…
Clean all the electronics. Try storing all warranties and manuals in one file, so you’ll know where they are in the new year ahead. January house cleaning checklist complete – We wish you all a healthy and Happy New Year!
